19 Killed in Multiple CA Mass Shootings

The entire state of California is reeling, after three separate shootings in three days claim 18 lives, with some still in critical condition. Many others were wounded as well, and investigators are left trying to make sense of it all.

The violence began Saturday night, when a lone gunmen entered a dance studio in Monterey Park, killing 11 and wounding 9 others. The same gunman then drove to Alhambra to yet another dance studio to apparently continue his shooting spree, but was stopped by the heroic actions of the first person he encountered there.

Brandon Tsay was at the front desk of his family’s dance studio, and said he heard the “distinct sound of metal”, which caused a sequence of events in which the gunman was ultimately disarmed and fled the scene. His heroism saved countless lives that night.
On Monday, the violence continued, in the seaside town of Half Moon Bay, near San Francisco. Seven people were gunned down, and one injured, in what appears to be a case of workplace violence, according to preliminary reports from local law enforcement.

Hours after the shooting in Half Moon Bay, in nearby Oakland, another shooting occurred, which killed one and injured seven more.

According to CBS News:

Police say officers were sent to investigate a ShotSpotter activation – gunfire picked up by an automated system – and “learned there was a shooting between several individuals.”

California has some of the very strictest gun laws in the land, yet they have a disproportionate share of the gun violence per capita in the country. More restrictions is not the answer, contrary to what anybody says on the Left, Right, or Center.
