Lightfoot Blames Racism and Misogyny in Re-election Loss

Electing people based on our differences, is always a bad idea, but where Lori Lightfoot was concerned – electing her as mayor of the once-great city of Chicago – it was utterly disastrous. Fortunately for the residents of that city, it appears she is not going to make it past the runoff race for another term as mayor, finishing off in the middle of the pack with a flaccid 17%.

The murder rate in Chicago shot up under Lightfoot, with an average of 665 murders annually under her leadership. Crimes of every nature, especially theft, swept the area, leaving thousands of victims in its wake.

We live in a time where the only thing that matters to the Democrats is who you’re “knowing” in a Biblical sense, and what ethnic background they have. Apparently, Lightfoot’s only “qualifications” for the job of mayor was her ethnicity and openly gay status, and she is now part of another “special category” – the only mayor to see crime rates skyrocket in just one term, with some of the more violent crimes experiencing a 60% uptick under her tenure.

Mayor Lightfoot was especially tyrannical during Covid shutdowns, demanding the city remain home, yet the murder rate for 2020 was 774 senseless deaths, seeing a 50% uptick, year over year. There isn’t a single, positive thing to come out of her administration, but what comes next may be no better.

Lightfoot is for sure out, but the next mayor has their work cut out, so let’s hope Chicagoans make a better choice. The two runoff candidates left in the race are both Democrat, with one receiving an endorsement from the police union, making him the slightly more palatable choice.

Lightfoot may see “racism” and “sexism” and “homophobia” as culprits for her huge loss, but it wasn’t any of the above – it was her divisive, ideological, utterly inept approach to leading. She will be a notable historical figure, but like former President Jimmy Carter, it will be for all the wrong reasons.
