Republican Drag Queen?

It does not seem the troubles will ever cease for freshman congressman, George Santos, of New York’s 3rd congressional district. The assertion made by lightly verified sources out of Rio de Janeiro is that in 2005, the NY representative competed in multiple beauty pageants, and had even hoped to become Miss Gay Rio de Janeiro. Neither source gave their legal name, with one source using their stage name of “Eula Rochard” to substantiate their story, according to multiple news outlets.

According to Reuters, “The congressman said on Twitter on Thursday that claims ‘that I am a drag queen …are categorically false,’ adding’: I will not be distracted nor fazed by this.’”

The most recent obsession from the media claiming that I am a drag Queen or “performed” as a drag Queen is categorically false.

The media continues to make outrageous claims about my life while I am working to deliver results.

Since the story broke, pictures that appear to be the representative dressed in drag alongside his freshman congressional photo have gone viral. Reuters states, “Santos competed in a drag beauty pageant that year [2008] using the drag name Kitara Ravache but lost, Rochard said.”

Because Santos has taken such a conservative stance, his worst detractors would have him lose his seat in the House in light of this most recent allegation. The ongoing saga surrounding him does make one wonder why there is so much interest in this one man.
