Spotify Parts Ways With Harry & Meghan After Single Podcast Series

Just the News: Streaming giant Spotify has ended its partnership with Prince Harry and Meghan Markel’s production company after concluding a single podcast series.

“Spotify and Archewell Audio have mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together,” both parties announced this week, according to CBS News. Neither entity explained the reason for the split.

Markle had hosted “Archetypes” a podcast that featured myriad activists, actors, musical artists, and athletes. The program ran for 12 full episodes, the last of which aired in November 2022. Its first episode aired in August of the same year.

Archewell Audio, the royal couple’s production company entered into a contract with the streaming giant in December 2020 that was supposed to run multiple years and produce more than just Archetypes.

The pair have undertaken numerous efforts to remain in the spotlight, including the podcast effort, a Netflix show, and a book deal for the prince, though many of these efforts have generated public irritation or outright hostility toward them.

Polling data from earlier this year revealed that a plurality of the British public, 44%, [thought] Harry ought to lose his royal title.
